Wings for Life World Run: Registration Open

Back to overview

Imagine taking off your running shoes knowing you were part of something truly special. You were running alongside thousands of others from all over the world – at the Wings for Life World Run. We are more than thrilled to announce: the registration for the next event is now open!

The One Constant…
…is the Wings for Life World Run. Even though we are currently in lockdown, we have every intention of logging into the corresponding app on the 9th of May. Together, we will run to make spinal cord injuries curable. All registration fees are invested directly in spinal cord research. It pays to be quick: the first 10,000 participants to register will receive an official Wings for Life World Run shirt.

How It Works
For all newbies: all participating runners are connected via an app and run until the virtual Catcher Car catches up with them. The vehicle starts chasing 30 minutes after the virtual starter gun opens the race. It increases its pace until every participant is caught.

App-solutely Special

“That cloud of dust hovering above the horizon… is that you?” – While you are running, we provide a gripping audio experience via the app. We are right by your side while the Catcher Car chases you, supplying you with extensive information on distance and speed – no matter where you are.

Besides the app run, depending on local circumstances, there could be 12 flagship events around the globe next year. The decision whether or not to proceed with them will be made in February at the latest.

We hope you’ll join us! Until then, here are some impressions of the 2020 app run:
