Role of pro-axonal genes in regeneration
Funded in: 2010, 2011
Back to overview
Adult motoneurons are intrinsically deficient in the expression of genes functionally involved in axonal outgrowth resulting in a limited intrinsic sprouting and regenerative potential. Aim of the project is to induce axon sprouting and regeneration in motoneurons through the activation of a specific transcriptions program of pro-axonal genes regulated by p53, resulting in a better functional recovery.
