Molecular analysis of the response to injury

Back to overview
The dorsal root entry zone (DREZ) of the spinal cord is a region which is particularly resistant to the re-growth of sensory fibres, for example after injury of the nerve plexus of the arm. This project intends to discover molecules responsible for the DREZ being highly resistant to fiber regeneration and thus reveal additional key targets for pharmacological intervention following brachial plexus and spinal cord injury.
