Talks, poster, and discussions in the US

Back to overview

At the beginning of December the 16th International Symposium on Neural Regeneration was held in Asilomar (USA) near San Francisco. 230 researchers met to discuss their work about regeneration in the central nervous system.

Among them, also some Wings for Life funded researchers presented their new results. E.g. David Stirling talked about the influence of intracellularly stored calcium on the axons after an injury. Katalin Bartus is working together with Liz Bradbury and showed their findings about remyelination after spinal cord injury mediated by Neuregulin 1.

Apart from interesting talks and posters, also joint initiatives with other foundations were discussed. Wings for Life supported the meeting with travel grants for young scientists.
