DTM supports Wings for Life
Back to overview
We are so happy about this: Wings for Life becomes charity partner of DTM (German Touring Car Masters). The traditional racing series will help us to accelerate a cure for spinal cord injury.
The cooperation will help to generate more awareness and raise funds for spinal cord research. "Following a road accident, I just escaped paraplegia," says Gerhard Berger, explaining why the partnership with Wings for Life is close to his heart. "Ever since, I have been intensely concerned with this matter. With the current cooperation in DTM, we want to help in further advancing the research for paraplegic people.”
During the upcoming season, DTM will be carrying out a range of activities for the benefit of Wings for Life. Among other things, a helmet will be auctioned or raffled off for the good cause every race weekend. Star drivers such as Marco Wittmann, Lucas Auer and Kelvin van der Linde agreed without any hesitation to donate a helmet worn during the races for this cause.
The donations enable us to continue supporting cutting-edge research projects around the world. Our founder and two-time motocross world champion Heinz Kinigadner is delighted about the partnership: "We are very proud that the DTM is supporting us with passion and full power. Gerhard Berger has already encountered this matter and knows how serious paraplegia is. In the research world, Wings for Life is often referred to as a turbo. With DTM by our side, we have gained a valuable fuel to reach our goal even faster.”
