Daniel has selected two helmets for sale, the first designed by Jens Munser for the 2015 Austrian Grand Prix. The signed helmet worn by Ricciardo in the practice session has original debris marks from being worn on track. Ricciardo’s second choice of helmet is also designed by Jens Munser, this time produced for the 2015 British Grand Prix. The helmet has been signed in black marker to the rear of the crown alongside the notable Honeybadger “What would he do?” design to the rear. Both helmets are offered with a Perspex display case, an Arai helmet bag and an Infiniti Red Bull Racing Certificate of Authenticity.
“It’s great to be able to put a couple of helmets up for auction and raise money for Wings for Life as a result" Daniel Ricciardo says. "I am a passionate supporter of the cause and I hope the sale will raise some decent funds to support their vital work in spinal cord injury research.”
The auction will take place on the 24th of June at the Goodwood Festival of Speed Auction, in Chichester, UK. Buyers can bid online, by telephone or attend the event in person.
Full auction details including how to bid outside the UK can be found on the Bonhams website www.bonhams.com. Bonhams kindly waive their fees for us and 100% of the money raised from these unique Formula One items will go directly to funding cutting-edge research aimed at finding a cure for spinal cord injury.
