New MSA British Rally Championship partnership
Wings for Life Spinal Cord Research Foundation is very pleased to announce a new partnership with the UK’s premier motorsport rally championship, the MSA British Rally Championship (BRC).
The BRC is an annual rallying series based in the UK and comprises seven events throughout the British Isles. The motorsports community are very aware of the risks of spinal injuries, making Wings for Life’s cause close to the heart of the BRC’s organisers, competitors and spectators.
The partnership was launched at the BRC Awards Ceremony on 9th November, a black tie event at the Manchester Hallmark Hotel. The evening saw 300 guests from around the world of rallying come together to celebrate the 2013 season. The night played host to prestigious awards including the NGK Spark Plugs BRC Challenge, the Citroën Racing Trophy, Fiesta Sport Trophy & Challenge and the Twingo Renaultsport Trophy UK.
The annual MSA British Rally Championship awards provided a fantastic finale to the night but one moment in the night stood out for the audience - an emotive talk from our ambassador Sean Rose, who sustained his spinal cord injury whilst serving for the RAF.
BRC aim to help Wings for Life drive forwards their mission to find a cure by promoting the charity’s work throughout the 2014 series to participants and spectators alike.
Mark Taylor, Managing Director (UK Rally Limited) of the MSA British Rally Championship said, “We are delighted to announce that Wings for Life UK will be our inaugural adopted Charity for 2014. This Charity has many synergies with the potential personal injury risks inherent in motorsport and for us to provide our support is an honour."
