From 12 to 13 May, international top scientists will come together in Salzburg on the occasion of the second Wings for Life colloquium 2010 and discuss the status quo and possible perspectives in spinal cord research.
The scientists participating at the two-day "Wings for Life International Projects Meeting 2010", members of renowned university hospitals and institutes in Austria, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden, England, Canada and the United States, will present their scientific approaches as well as the results of their current research projects funded by Wings for Life.
In funding year 2009/2010, Wings for Life is supporting a total of 20 promising medical scientific research projects in the areas of neuroprotection, neurological regeneration, neurological reconstruction, neurological restoration and compensation treatments, as well as new imaging techniques.
The total investment volume of the Wings for Life Spinal Cord Research Foundation currently amounts to € 4.1 million.
This year, for the first time, the "Wings for Life International Projects Meeting" 2010 will provide patients and their families as well as interested parties with the opportunity of receiving information on the current medical scientific status quo regarding spinal research and possible procedures on the improvement of the quality of life of affected persons.
On 13 May, 9 to 10.30 a.m., three scientific papers will be presented, to which Wings for Life would like to extend a cordial invitation:
