Expression and biological function of NOGO-A in immune cells and the potential modulation of immune cell function by ANTI-NOGO-A antibodies

Back to overview
One of the molecules known to inhibit neuronal regeneration after an injury is called Nogo-A. Currently a clinical trial is testing the capacity of a molecule (Nogo-A antibody) that is blocking this inhibitory signal to promote regeneration after spinal cord injury. Recent studies proved that Nogo-A is also involved in the control of the immune system. This project is crucial to find a way to avoid possible side effects that often have been observed with therapeutic antibodies in neurological diseases.
