Team Mom-entum - Wings for Life World Run
The story behind
Running for Joy Palma. Her amazing attitude during her recovery from her spinal cord injury has inspired us to represent her in this race. We will use the momentum she has created over the last 10 months to help us fly through this race, with her wings on our back.
Millions of people are currently dependent on a wheelchair after having sustained a spinal cord injury. Yet the wheelchair is just the visible sign of a much greater problem. Spinal cord injured people have to learn daily activities such as eating, bathing and dressing over again and sometimes cannot handle them without help.
However, the diagnosis of “paraplegia” is likely to become a thing of the past because scientists agree unanimously: injured nerve cells in the spinal cord are capable of regeneration.
Please support my effort to help the non-profit Wings for Life foundation in achieving its vision of curing spinal cord injury.
Any contribution you can make is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your support.
