Cleddau Bridge 130ft Bungee Jump- Wings for Life Spinal Cord Research
The story behind
Every year hundreds of people of all ages are paralysed following an injury to their spinal cord. The damage can be permanent and their lives are never the same again, yet research into this condition is desperately underfunded.
Wings for Life's goal is to not only improve the care and rehabilitation available to people in this situation, but to also make diagnosis of paraplegia a thing of the past. With scientists unanimously agreeing that damaged nerve endings in the spinal cord are capable of re-generation, Wings for Life have a team of the world's leading spinal professors & doctors working on a cure.
The aim of this UK based foundation is particularly relevant to me as 5 years ago my mum underwent serious spinal surgery as a result of a spinal cord injury. She was one of the lucky ones, but it really hit home how immediate and life-changing the affects of a spinal cord injury can be, with most coming from accidents in day to day life.
So I'm asking for your support as I spend my 20th birthday raising funds for the Wings for Life not-for-profit spinal cord research foundation. All the foundation’s administrative costs are covered by the Red Bull Company so 100% of all donations go directly into spinal cord research. £1 Donation = £1 for Spinal Cord Research.
