Dr. Vieri Failli

Dr. Vieri Failli is a neurobiologist by training and supports Prof. DDr. Jan Schwab since the formation of Wings for Life in 2004.

Between 1999 and 2004, Dr. Failli worked as a scientist at the CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) in Paris and at the ZMNH (Centre for Molecular Neurobiology) in Hamburg.

Holding a PhD in Neurobiology and having excellent work experience in Molecular, Developmental and Cellular Biology, Dr. Vieri Failli is the best choice to assist Prof. DDr. Jan Schwab in the scientific activities of Wings for Life.

"Since the 1990s, when the dogma of the incurability of paraplegia was overturned, we have seen constant progress and the daily increase in knowledge about our complex nervous system. I experience this in the intensive collaboration with the projects we fund, every day and all over the world.

Further work and effort will be needed until clinical trials can be conducted with humans. But the insights are both a foundation and an incentive to facilitate the regeneration of injured spinal cords", Dr. Failli says.
